  •  AVG Antivirus Issue

Another problem could be the post-uninstallation of AVG Antivirus. This behavior could be the consequence of the uninstallation of AVG Antivirus on a Windows-based computer with Internet Explorer 9/10.

To remove completely any trace of AVG Antivirus you can use the clean tools (AVG Remover) reachable on http://www.avg.com/us-en/utilities.

Uninstall and re-install Internet Explorer 10

After using the AVG Remover Tool (it sounds like even AVG is a malware with this name...) you have to reset Internet Explorer 10 by uninstalling it and then, if you want however use it, reinstall it (by using Windows Update or from the web).

Basically, it all comes down to uninstalling Internet Explorer 10, as IE9 is automatically restored once you complete this process.

  • First of all, click on the “Start” button (because you do have one unlike Windows 8 users!) and type “Programs and Features” in the search box.
  • Click on the “View installed updates” in the left pane of the menu.
  • Go over to the “Uninstall an update” screen and scroll down to the “Microsoft Windows” section. Simply select Internet Explorer 10 and click “Uninstall”.

It usually takes a while until the process comes to an end, so you’re strongly recommended to avoid stopping or cancelling it. A reboot is necessary to complete the removal and restore IE9.
