Windows 7 – How to Fix when Bootmgr is missing on startup

If you have installed Windows 7 in your computer, and during reboot,  if the boot record got corrupted, you will see the following error. Don't panic! It can be easily fixed.

Here is how you fix this, without reinstalling the whole windows and it can be done in minutes.

Solution:

  • Place your Windows 7 disc and boot with it.
  • Once installer completes, it will stop at Install Windows 7 and below your will see the REPAIR link.
  • Go to Command Prompt.
  • Just run the below command and it will restore your boot record.
bootrec /fixboot
