UltraRDC – Manage Multiple Remote Desktop Connections

If you are a professional computer troubleshooter or networking expert, then there is a good chance you manage multiple remote connections to or via your computer.

Remote Desktop Sharing within Windows leaves a lot to be desired particularly when it comes to more than one remote network. On the web there are tools available that help you manage more than one remote desktop connections; however their list of features is perhaps a little too rich and in their complexity, they become less user friendly.

A competent alternative to all such programs is UltraRDC.

The developer of this program faced a similar situation like yours. He even mentions it in the program’s introduction:

If you’re like me, you spend a lot of your day with a multitude of terminal services windows open to the machines that you’re setting up, fixing, etc. There are a few apps out there geared towards managing these windows and connections but, at least to me, they tried to do too much. I really needed something to just display my windows in a tabbed interface and, other than that, stay out of my way.”

With that aim in mind, the developer took the help of Weifen Luo’s excellent DockPanel Suite and was able to apply a Visual Studio look and feel to his program, with tabs for each terminal services window and an auto-hiding pane for favorites and history.

The entire program is designed to be user friendly and makes it easier to add new remote connections and connect to them through simple mouse clicks.

Windows 7 features including support for tabbed thumbnails, Aero peek, and jump lists are also supported by UltraRDC.

UltraRDC is a 1.6 MB setup file to download, is compatible with Windows operating systems, and can be gotten from HERE.
